About Us
We are Matt and Missy Smith - two people with limited vacation days and unlimited curiosity about the world.
Why "Infrequent"?
Because that is what we are. Between full-time jobs, family responsibilities, and the general chaos of life, we do not travel as much as we would like. But that has not stopped us from exploring 6 countries, 15 states, and taking around 30 flights over the past 15 years.
We have made every mistake in the book: overpacking, booking the wrong airports, showing up at closed attractions, and that time we accidentally rented a car in London (driving on the "other" side was... memorable).
But we have also learned a lot. And we realized most travel advice is written by people who travel constantly - digital nomads, travel bloggers with unlimited time, corporate road warriors. Their advice does not always apply when you are squeezing a year worth of wanderlust into a two-week vacation.
This site is for you: the occasional traveler who wants to make every trip count.
Our Philosophy
Practical over aspirational. We will not tell you to quit your job and travel the world. We will tell you how to maximize your 10 days off.
Honest over polished. We share what actually works, including our failures. Every "what not to do" comes from personal experience.
Affordable over luxury. We are not showing you five-star resorts. We are showing you how to find decent hotels at half price, which airports have the best layover amenities, and how to pack in a way that saves baggage fees.
